- Wait 48 hours before washing newly installed extensions
- Limit washing to 1–2 times per week
- Always detangle and brush before washing
- Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner
- Gently massage your scalp — avoid rough scrubbing
- Wash in a downward motion to prevent tangling
- Rinse thoroughly
- Use a hydrating mask or treatment once a week on mid-lengths and ends
- Blow-dry your extensions as soon as possible after washing
- Gently squeeze out excess water — don't rub
- Use a heat protector and keep heat at or below 180°C
- Blow-dry the root area fully to avoid moisture buildup
- Use an extension-safe brush — a boar bristle brush or Tangle Teezer
- Always brush from the ends up to avoid pulling
- Brush 1–2 times a day, especially before bed
- Never brush hair when it's fully wet — gently detangle with a wide-tooth comb when damp
- Always brush your hair before bed
- Never go to bed with wet hair
- A silk pillowcase or silk/satin bonnet reduces friction and keeps extensions smoother
- Sleep with your hair in a loose low ponytail or braid
- Tie your hair in a braid or plait before swimming
- Apply a leave-in conditioner before swimming to protect from chlorine and salt
- Rinse hair immediately after swimming and wash as soon as possible
- Tie your hair up during exercise to prevent tangling
- Always use mineral-based sunscreen — avoid Avobenzone or Octocrylene which can cause discolouration, especially on blonde hair
